Ok, so I had a battle in my English campaign, where I had 3 groups of militia spearmen, and Danish had 2 groups of horsemen. I won the battle, but in battle I lost one of my spearmen groups. Well, now that I sent them back to a city to get retrained, it says that I have 3 groups of spearmen, just a bit less than I had before the battle. Why is that? Why don't they really die, or is that some bug or something?

Maybe some spearmen from the "destroyed" group were healed? I had a destroyed come back to life because 30 of them were "healed" afterwards.

Maybe they were captured. When you win a battle, any of your men that were captured get automatically released.

I had a battle where two units of Peasant Archers were totally decimated by enemy missile fire and later in melee. No routing though. After the battle they are back to full strength again, no losses to those two units at all. Other units in my army had suffered the losses normally.
