DDS Coverter

Hi, i have a problem with the nvidia DDS converter.I need it for modding, but i am unable to open it.:help: please!

What do you mean by 'open it'? Do you mean you cannot open dds files because your PS (or PSP) will not work with the dds plug-in? Which version of PS or PSP do you have, old or quite new? The dds convertor was upgraded this past year or so. It no longer functions with my old PaintShop Pro version 7 so I had to locate the older version on the Net.

Try downloading Irfanview. This free app opens most graphic files, including DDS. Never leave home without it!

But I need to open .dds.tga files!

:whip: so...you didn't actually bother downloading the FREE program and trying it..... suppose you had better give up then.....

The files actually have a .tga.dds extension, and if you actually try what I suggested, you will find it opens them just fine.

You mean tga.dds - have you followed the instructions at Nvidia?

I have Irfanview, but it gives an error when trying to open a tga.dds

Then please post your error message.

The program works fine for me, and opens ALL the stock RTW teture files on my PC. I also use the DDS plugin for Photoshop 5, and that works fine.

The fact that none of these things seem to work for you indicates you have something more fundamental causing you grief.

1) Is it a stock file you are opening

2) What error message do you get

3) Can you convert a bmp file to DDS using any tool

4) Last resort....mail me the file and I will tell you if it is OK or messed up.
