View Full Version : How long till 0.8?
So how long do we have to wait before the great mighty one comes down from the BETA testers and saves us? I have cleansed my RTW of EB 0.74 back to vanilla 1.5 and in my desperation of waiting I have gone back to good old AoM (Age of Mythology). It's amazing, but it doesn't have the graphics or the elite game play of EB. So should I have stripped down or not? How long must we be tortured by our anticipation and our desperation?

the vote had been closed, but still no news. :(
perhaps they should give us some information, some information about the possible release date. i am waiting now.
Well, they did say sometime this month, but maybe they meant this month, 2007. :smash:
*insert evil laughter here*
I would have more anticipation for its release, but i'm too busy looking for a job here in Engarland, although it's very very difficult with all the Polish, Romanians, Pakistanis and Indians willing to work for £2 an hour.

We're still pushing for this month. We'll see what happens.
For what it's worth, v.79 is now good enough that all my old, beloved v.74 games have been relegated to the dustbin. I played 80 turns as Saka over the weekend and it was such a gripping campaign that i basically have no finger nails left. That said, we are working hard to address a lot of remaining gaps in our to-do list, there's a few nagging CTDs, and all the new factions (including Saka) need additional work.
But the v.80 release is definitely still on track (we're less than half way into November, btw, so keep that in mind)

I'm surprised by that Kull. Saka are one of our least finished factions too. Sarmatians are a lot more complete. Were any of the nomadic changes giving you problems? The new stuff? Besides the bard's tent showing the wrong image?
I suggest EB to work on 1.0 in complete and absolute secret, don't tell anybody you're working on it, pretend it all ended on 0.8. Ignore all the claims that you ever mentioned version 1.0. Then you can sit back, relax and work on the thing with no pressure.
Then one day you can all come out of the closet and announce what you've been doing hidden inside it. :eyebrows: ~;)
Otherwise, eveybody, myself included, will keep: :jumping: and :cheerleader: untill we get frustrated because :trytofly: which wears off quickly on the next thought of :duel:
You know, we're a damn :bomb:
Personally i think EB is a myth, and doesn't really exist.

You better be playing as the Norse!
Or the Joms-Vikings will get you!

No, I'm playing as Egypt at current. I got to the hard one where you have to fight with Kemsyt to get the Osiris piece back to my city. Don't worry the Norse portion of the campaign isn't too far off.

I was shocked at how playable they were, to be honest. There's still a number of things we need to add and/or fine tune, but Saka is already far beyond Yuezhi in terms of playability.

Horray! I can play as nomads now!
