Is that a purebreed Huskey, BHC? It looks more like a Collie to me.

I have a 9 year old female Aussie Shepard Blue Meral. I don't have a picture, but if you have ever seen the movie "Babe", the one with the pig, she looks a lot like those dogs.

She's Mixed. Part Huskey, Part Shpered (or German Shepred, can't remember) and Part something else, have to ask my dad about the last part.

I really have sympathy with you mate. My dog George died a couple of months back and I still miss him. Funny thing is, I still hear him padding around. Mind you his black hairs are still haunting me. :help:

Back on topic:

I still got three Yorkies, two bitches and a dog. Ordinarily great pets.....but I would trade everyone of them in to get George back. He was a special 'once in a lifetime' dog.

He was named after one of the characters in A Clockwork Orange, gladly he never lived up to his namesake.

He didn't even live that long, a mere 9 years. Which, sadly, is pretty good for that particular breed. Needless to say it doesn't make it easier, losing a friend and all...

Yeah, I know what you mean Apache. It's weird suddenly having such an empty, but clean, house. Although, if I had the choice, I'd know what to pick.

Ein dashund or tekkel in dutch, No idea how you call them in English. But you know them, it is that kind of dog that looks more like a sausage then a dog. Anyway somewhere on this forum there's a picture of her, but I'm to lazy to look it up.

2 Siberian Huskies, pics can be found in the family photos thread.

@Gertgregoor, I believe the "english" name you are looking for is Dachshund, the weiner dog.

@Dutch_guy, sorry to hear it, although 9 years is pretty good for a Dane. It's a shame the really big dog breeds don't live very long, some of them have the best dispositions.

Our dear Lobo (who has been gone 1 year now) was a Shepherd-mix. We're waiting for another dog to "fall in our lap" like Lobo did, so many years ago. We subscribe to the theory that pets find us (when we're worthy), vs. us finding them.

Nice looking dog you once had Kukri.. I still feel gutiy, when I went to the pound to pick my huskey up, there was a golden Retriever there, and I wanted that dog also, but only allowed to get 1 lol :(
Anyhow, I think you should just get another dog Kukri, having a dog "find you" so to speak could happen, but hard..

okay, sad story time.
I have a chocolate lab, female, who is 6 years old.
She has hip dysplasia in one hip and major arthritis in the other.
She has to take 4 pills a day, 2 for pain, 2 for inflammation.
If she goes with out them, she will be unable to walk and it's hard carrying a 90 pound dog up the stairs.

Here's the even sadder part. Last month, she was being taken to the vets office to refill the pills and a checkup. While my parents went around the car to let her out, someone held them up with a gun and stole the car with the dog still inside. My parents called the cops, but they did very little to help.
We got the local news to do a story and ask for help on t.v. She had to go without her pills for over a week before she was found, collapsed in a driveway. She couldn't walk and was literally crawling with her front two paws and yelping.
Her stomach was tore up and she had lost almost 20 pounds. She had to have surgery to fix her broken hips.
The criminals were caught and only served 7 days prison. That's it. No money from them, no apology or community service, just 7 days of prison. Oh, and the car had 3000 dollars of damage to it, but they didn't have to pay for that either.

:sweatdrop:
:furious3:
:embarassed:

my dog, the 7 year old Huskey, has arthritis in her hips. have to give her a pill once or twice a week, to help, if not, then she can still walk up the steps, but it 's really hard for her then.

One Word can sum that up m8..... WTF
That how the Law Works now m8, if I had the say of this, they would be paying for your car, your pills for your dog, and serveing 1 or 2 years in prision, that my Opinion if I was handing your case. But that how the Goofy Laws of USA works today I guess, Feel sorry for you. Although if that happend to me, I would proably have shot the guys, but that my thoughts.

12 year old Beagle that is quite the chow hound. Once broke into his bag of food and ate until he could eat no more. Curled up into a ball and yelped if you touched his belly. Except for a few bathroom breaks in the backyard, he didn't move very much for the next 24 hours.

LOL..

One time, my dad gave my Huskey a whole Hotdog or something, and She puked the whole thing back up 2 minutes later, because she swalloed the whole into thing LOL
