One of my friends, a wonderful artist, great girl, and her works has been stolen.
She has revealed to me that his works have been stolen (??) by several Polish websites.
Anyway, here are the sites. I'm not sure about the legality of this, but it would be very helpful.
:help:

hey its sam. here are the four sites

http://magiczne-adopki.blog.onet.pl/
http://moje-zwierzaki-fantasty.blog.onet.pl/
http://adopcje-stworow.blog.onet.pl/
http://blue-mist.blog.onet.pl/

Please contact the owner(s) of these four sites. They have stolen art from artists on an online art gallery. Art theft is illegal. Please include the following in your messages to them. "Please remove all art not belonging to you. The artists are very angry. What you've done is illegal, and you can be taken to court over this and be sued." It is VERY important that you do this since the artists are english speaking and I have spent hours slaving over an online polish translator. I ask you from the bottom of my heart to contact these people. Artists that put time, effort and love into these pictures are very upset and can't do anything about it. Please help us.

Guy's (gals too) I'd be really appreciative as well to have any Polish speakers email these sites with bolded text (in Polish).

I don't know about if it actually giving credit to the correct authors, but she wants them gone.

So has anyone participated? This is a very serious matter, and might need to be moved somewhere else, but at least one person responding to this call would do wonders.:help: :help: :help:

On looking at the links you posted, there appears to be work from many different artists, some of which are attributed, others which show signatures and still others that are unattributed. It is not clear to me whether the sites are hobby sites or commercial.

Sadly, it is a fact of life that if one posts material on the internet, especially art, it is likely to be copied and used. Your friend has copyright and legal recourse, but only she may pursue it. I doubt if it will help if strangers send emails, and it may even complicate things. For example, I have only your word that copyright resides with this person - no name, no proof, and I don't even know which pictures are meant to be hers.

It would be wise for your friend to write to the offending webmasters with a polite request to remove the copyrighted material. Short of then launching a legal dispute in a foreign country, she may well have to accept the breach. If they are unwilling to respond positively with an apology and removal to such an email, I somehow doubt they will care about a few extra emails from persons unconnected.

For anyone considering supporting the call, please ensure you keep any emails civil, polite and without threats of legal action.

Very well Said Banquo. She needs to e-mail them herself, if they are actually copyrighted. She has better luck e-mailining them herself anyhow, because I doubt they will listen to us, who are un conncted to this..

How about a Polish translation of bolded words?
