(Moved to public forum to expedite. Members or non members can help.)

I'm trying to make our sprites match up with the real campaign map graphics we have. I have turned the sprites into letters and I now have letters all over my campaign map - but I don't know what trees they represent. Those of us with NVIDIA GEFORCE MX4 cards (a lot) don't see real 3D trees on the strat map, but crappy (and wrong) sprites. At least let's get them right. No more white trees in desert. So, here is what I need:

About 10 screenshots. let's do about 6 in summer, 4 in winter.

Take them all zoomed in as much as you can. Post them on imageshack and put the thumbnails here. Please also state if you are about to do this, so that we don't have reduplication of work.

I need shots of these areas (around these cities):
1. Ammonion
2. Gava-Yugra
3. Iuvavoaeta
4. Maryab
5. Diospolis Megale
6. Taksashila (a little south of it)
7. The lake Southeast of Kirtan

Then maybe# 2, 3, 4, and 5 in the winter also.

When someone posts them, I can get started fixing it. DON'T BOTHER posting it if you are one of the people who sees white trees in the deserts and doesn't have 3D moving trees on the strat map.

note: This is not a sprite file that auto-generates. I just removed it and it CTD'd the game. The file that is causing these problems is: data/terrain/aerial_map/trees/sprites/strat_tree_spritepage.tga

The problem here is that (1) people who have this problem and want it solved can't take the screenshots, and (2) people who don't have this problem don't really care because they don't have it. :laugh4: There are a lot of us though.

Post your pleas here for help, fellow NVIDIA GEFORCE MX4 owners!

(BTW, I've gotten responses from CA on this - they say there is no fix. They chose to use a system that renders the strat map trees in a way that the MX4 cards cannot interpret, and no new patches or updates to the card will fix it. So the system defaults to the sprites. No problem for vanilla, but EB has put new terrain types in that muck the vanilla sprite system up - palms are in places and rocks in others mainly.)

Just save them on your harddrive or desktop in jpg or png format and then use imageshack to upload them: http://www.imageshack.us/ It can resize them if you want it to, but just post the thumbnail code it provides you here.

No response on this today - but that's probably for the best. I'm seeing the same sprite showing up in places that are totally palms and also in central europe where there are none for sure. The system obviously wasn't meant to have to rely on sprites the way it does - I'll probably get another cpu in a few months anyway and not have to worry about this crap any longer. It'd take someone who knew a lot more than I do at this point to fix it I think.
