You do realize that your chances of being struck by lightening are seven times greater than ever winning the lottery?

This is the Euromillions lottery, they use 2 'bonus balls' so the odds are even worse :laugh4:

There are methods for choosing numbers that can significantly reduce the odds though. IIRC one method, discovered by a syndicate of maths proffessors at Cambridge University, drops the odds down to about 60,000:1. Only problem is its based on a syndicate of 20 people buying 20 tickets twice a week for 3+ years :help: The guys who made it won £2,500,000 a few months back (although it aint really all that life changing when divided between 20)

I don't think you can increase the odds of winning, but you can increase the odds of you alone winning. Choose higher numbers, as people tend to choose birthdays etc, so numbers before 31 tend to have more people going for them...

Now the question remains if the actually made profit or not. Now lets see:

2.500.000/20=125000. 12500/(52*3)=801,28 801,28/40 (2 times 20 tickets) = 20,03

As I guess a ticket is cheaper then 20.03€ so I guess they made some profit. But we must not forget the fact that it was for longer then 3 years (and I used 3 years). Now if someone knows the price it's simple to find out if they actually made profit or not.

Actually, the odds are still against you for a long time. Lol.

I play the lottery sometimes. Hey, it could happen, you could win. I usually only play though when its +$200 million.
