As Basil Fawlty said to Sybil...

It's my 17th wedding anniversary today. Some sad times, some bad times but I'm still in love with my wife...all in all a wise choice.

Cost me a fortune in parfum....she says 'because she's worth it' ....well I can't argue with that one.

Just about to go out for an Italian....

Just thought I'd share that with you lot of reprobates.. :laugh4:

:whip: <<< she who must be obeyed.

:sweatdrop: << moi

Good times tonight methinks!

This place Chicago Public Library (http://www.chipublib.org/008subject/005genref/giswedding.html) Lists furniture as the gift to give on the 17th.

So, didja buy her a chair?

Congrats to you and the ol' ball-and-chain. Mine and I just finished 13 last month.

Hehe I like the one for 100 years! Nope no chair :laugh4: although funnily enough I said to her yesterday that I need a new chair for my computer room. :2thumbsup:

Well I had the Penne Arrabiata and Mrs. Apache had the salmon....well when I say salmon it was enormous! I kept looking to see if Captain Ahab was strapped to it's side. :inquisitive:

A couple of Peronis as an aperitif and two bottles of Chianti later I was in an extremely jovial mood.

Almost worth being with the ol' trouble and strife for 17 big ones.

Thanks for the congrats guys....very much appreciated. :balloon: :balloon3: :balloon2:

Congrats IA! May it last 17 more and twice over.

I'm just going on my 1st with my fiancee :ballchain:

But when we're married it'll be more like we've been together 1 and 3 quarters of a year.

I'd like to be as lucky as you to share same kind of happiness like yours somewhere in the future. Congrats and shall you remember such a happy day as the worst one of your marriage.

(Hope you don't misunderstand my wishes. A common way of good wishes in Turkish but, I see it can be misunderstood in a foreign language :sweatdrop:)

... shall you remember such a happy day as the worst one of your marriage.

Clear to me. I bet Insane Apache understands it the same way.

Very kind Blessing wrapped in what masquerades as a curse. bow:

How does that saying look in Turkish? With your permission, I'd like to use it in future congrats threads.

Um well, this is another way of saying "shall your other days be happier than ever". We say "En kötü gününüz böyle olsun" in Turkish.

Tovarase, sa ne traiesti si sa-ti iubesti femeia tot timpul. :2thumbsup:
Translation: Tovarisch(yeah, we had communists too, but we still use this because sounds funky), long live you(ad literam) and you must love your woman every time. (ad literam).

Sounds funky? I know. But that's how we say it here. :beam:

The first Mrs. Apache and I were together for 13+ years but only married for 3....she ran off with a Ukrainian double glazing salesman...:laugh4: I know it sounds like something from The Fast Show ala 'where's me washboard' but it's true..

I never did get around to thanking her. :beam:
