View Full Version : Regarding bizarre AI and auto-resolve fights
Hey community,
I'm playing as the Byzantines and it seems the AI is weird. Point I
When I fought against the Venetians, I had about 1000/1400 to their 400, I clicked on auto resolve fight/conflict ,whatever, and I lost!!!!!
What kind of CRAP is this? Arrrrrgggggggggggggg.......Ahem.

Several questions. First, you had 1000/1400 of what, and they had 400 what? If you had 1400 town militia and they had 400 dismounted men-at-arms I'd expect you to lose. Second, what difficulty level are you playing on? Auto-resolve is based on the campaign difficulty setting, rather than the battle difficulty setting.
Edit-ok, back now. I'm posting from work, and was interrupted by a customer. Another thing is that the auto-resolve doesn't take everything into account. I think it's just a number crunch based on the theoretical strength of the units involved, and doesn't consider the specific troops or the situation. The only "heroic victory" I've had in this campaign was one where I was defending a bridge crossing against a Venetian army. They had 9 Dismounted Feudal Knights, 1 peasants, and 1 Pavise Crossbow Militia. I had a general, 4 Vardariotai, and 6 Byzantine Cavalry. By the strength calculations, it was a 2:1 advantage on the part of the Venetians. In practice, I lost about 20 men, every one to friendly fire.
Hi Quillan,
I don't remember BUT I know that a patch is coming out!!!! :clown:
This will probably deal with the issues I've mentioned.
Thanks!
