Hail citizens of Total War ! {ideas for campaign on line ?}

Good that i find here a strong community. First of all let me introduce my self.

My name is juliuss { iulian org.} , i'm from Romania, and looking to see the day when a on line campaign in total war, will begin. This is an old dream of mine and i have recently post my ideas in the multiplayer section.

I hope ppl are not playing only MTW2, and only the single player , and only on line tactical battle. I hope , there are still figthers, generals, who want as i do, to see the day when many players will figth side by side into a ON LINE real TW campaign.

yes i would love an online campaign.........then we would see who was the greatest Faction general..... none of those "im fanatastic at every total war game and mod campaign" (sorry if anyone has actually completed that brilliant and vast feat) and as soon as a n00b of the online game (started yesterday) comes along and absolutely smashes through their defenses and take the town in 5 minutes

As i didn't manage to develop into my post , as i was it to large, the main idea is that so many players spent hours and days and weeks, and play togther, a pbem campaign, on same faction, in a friendly exchange of saves. Even if it is so, let's unite our efforts and build to fan ON LINE CAMPAIGN TW, where all TW players can lead their own team and factions, and interact with other factions/also teams:laugh4: . I say it would be the coolest think.

We have the tehnical aproach, we just need to unite the elements.

Thoose spent hours and days and weeks for a friendly pbem campaign, could be invest it into a large team vs team play , and all of us could have fun. :sweatdrop:


As Sanders did tell ,:furious3: "im fanatastic at every total war game and mod campaign" , there is no problem with players who belive in their skills, but i must tell you a fact , one is a player who is best on tactical , or in Single player mode , and other is the situation , when , 8-10 players, meets head to head , into the complicated and strategic problems of their started empire : economic aspects, trade , city manangement in general , and than , with all this administrative skills, to build large armies and to try to expand. Well, when you will try to expand , you will need to see the situation on the map. There will be some other on line players in your region/map , and you may consider to send diplomats for alliance or for a truce , or even for a war :)


This is something what thousands of fans would just ENJOY IT , and everyone of us , no matter if has lot of exp in TW battles or not, or Civ's matters, will find a place.

I said already i have spent hours to write a large post where i have bring some clear ideas for the project : on line TW campaign. I wait for replies , till now haven't seen to many but i still wait that some to take and digest the ideas , i am open to any possibilities, no matter what, just to see :wall: THAT TW ON LINE CAMPAIGN and many players interact with each other:egypt:

yeh that is a good idea.....plus we could mod the time period from the start of the roman period to modern day warfare.....plus i could do the history research as well. What do you think?

About your idea to go from Roman times to modern or medieval :) Belive me , is a very long way to this stuff. :smash:


FRom 280 BC to 400 AD it would be to infinite turns, and would be only quantity , and not quality of "on line campaign history" as we wish and intend to develop here.


We can start with small steps our research, to prepare the AWAKES of GOD {modders builders , admins and moderators with large exp in projects} :):help:

Sir , you didn't understand the entire idea.

I will work with examples.


We have TWO PHASES for ON LINE CAMPAIGN

1. We choose a day/ 2 days from 1 week, and will call it STRATEGIC PHASE

Considering you and me are the only factions from the game, we begin with turn 1 : 283 BC.

You are with ROME. I am with GREECE.

Most of the cases we will not have any contact on the land, many turns from the strategic map. We will develop , beating the AI hell down, and building our economy, our fleet , and try to unify our logical expansion space.

Rome will take Italy peninsula and unify it Greece will succed to take Macedonians, Spartans Cities, part of Balkans.

So , it will take many turns till we will meet.

Now, let consider i will prepare an army for the Italy itself, trying to help the greece cities from Sicily and Italy under Rome direct threat.

Our games rules will say like this:

Strategical PHASE

Monday and Thusday the strategic moves will be done:

TACTICAL PHASE

Thirday, Friday, on line tactical battles will be solved between generals. Everyone must meet on line and agree on a hour and a day for it from PHASE TWO

Sunday again Strategic Phase

Both players will meet on line and moves all the units on the strategic map, and make end of turn till enemy units will meet on STRMAP. IF both sides agree there will be a battle, and no one withdraws, it will be one more extra turns , if one sides consider that could reinforce with new units the battefields. If no one retires, games stops, STR PHASE 1 stops , and generals meets on line in TOTAL WAR .




This is only a poor example and rule what could be in the ON LINE CAMPAIGN. But can be added . When you have 10 players , i assure you , there will be 20-30 battles on the week, wich other players {from own team}. The simple general can have 2-3 battle per week, if he will role up into one team, and he must figth the battle for his team, or the team will have problem.

This concept is for a TEAM EFFORT and not for a single man effort.
So you must give your best for your team, and doing the best movements, giving to your generals best ground and terrain avantages. So you will don't have time to get bored, you will next the results of battles with your "soul into your mouth " , having heart beating for your generaling not to scrue up your entire strategic work and think, hoping that everyone has understand "last nigth team discussion and tactics " for battle from Phase 2 {Tactical} . Also simple generals , your team, will have emotion and hope to do their best. They must decide to leave and figth another day , or to stay and figth .

I tell you you will enjoy it and love it :) . :beam:


You ROME and ME GREECE:egypt: , will lead strategical turns, and ocassionaly, you as HIGH RANK GENERAL and FACTION LEADER can figth your most important battle. As i tell you , for ROME you are the SENATE, and SENATE has his own BATTLE . IF rome loose italy , and will remain only with ROME it self, you , as last remain general ,will have to figth your last battle into a SIEGE of ROME.


My examples can continnue , but it will be more easy to have you on line . Still i will post , so everyone will understand the concept . :juggle2:


I am sick of beating the AI ..... don't you want all of us to make an effort and to have our own ON line CAMPAIGN ? What does it matter it will take us 3 MONTHS ? WE WILL CONQUER THE WORLD , interaction with 30-50 players , making history and rpg stories .....belive me is worth it:) :beam:
