I remember a topic about Battle Replays being completely different from the real battle. I thought I might test this theory and after a while doing this, I had come up with a Battle Replay that is so distorted, that it is not fit for human eyes! ^_^

I was playing Rome - Total Realism (Platinum Edition) and played a battle that was clearly in the computer's favour. The enemy, being the Ptolemaic empire, was mainly made up of spear units, began marching towards my army, made up of light horse archers and skirmishers with few heavy cavalry.

I began to flank them with the horse archers but their poor arrow firing abilities made their arrows fail to strike their target, even from behind. I led one of the enemy's units out into the open, isolated from their main force I took the risk, and flew my horse archers at them from the rear. The charge, and their vulnerability from the sides and rear, set them running shortly afterward. I then moved my archers in to lead another into the open.

I repeated this several times, loosing only few archers at a time. When the enemy closed in on my heavy cavalry, I got them out of there fast. Soon, only one enemy unit of spears was left, I surrounded it, and amazingly, it was so perfectly timed that as I gave the order to charge, each unit hit the enemy at almost the exact same time. They were utterly vanquished. I felt so proud of those last few moments and the best part was, is that I had lost absolutely no units, not even if you added up the deaths of one type of unit, would it be equal to a full lot. Anyway, I saved the replay and eagerly watched it.

But to my disgust, it had horribly changed. My horse archers were completely pulverized and my general was slaughtered mercilessly. ;_;
In fact, the replay didn't even finish, as the battle went for about 15 - 20 min and in the replay it ran out of time. Battle Recorder = Insta-Fail
