View Full Version : Agent Movement Points with Crusades (Bug or Feature?)
Crusades lose their extended movement points if an agent joins them. Consequently, there is no way to get agents (for example, priests) to the Crusade target province along with the Crusade itself unless one agrees to losing extra speed boost, which (I have not tested this) might result in desertions due to slow progress towards the target. Seems like a bug to me. If it is a feature, I guess, CA wants us to send priests to the Crusade target province before the Crusade has been started.

Were the agent(s) in the stack when you joined the crusade ? Any unit joining the crusade would result in the loss of the movement bonus, but it would be silly if agents couldn't join (have the little cross).
Yes, I had two priests, a diplomat and two spies join the crusade when it was formed. There was no "little cross next to them" though. I discovered the bonus was not there when I disembarked the party on a coastline. The agents were thrown out separately and joining them back into the Crusade stack resulted in obvious movement bonus loss.

There is a solution to this:
Select the crusader army with the agent in and press 'Cntrl A' on your keyboard - this should give you back your full movement points. Well, it worked for me.
This also works with fleets - it seems to be a throwback to RTW, where fleet movement was reduced by embarking units that had used up most of their movement points, meaning the fleet couldn't move far. Cntrl A on the fleet and hey presto, your fleet movement points are back to full (but this did stop you being able to disembark your troops in the same movement).
Interesting. Will try that. Thanks.

I'd say it's probably more of a bug than a feature, but not a particularly critical one either.
