I am having a hard time getting my diplomats and Princess up there diplomacy wise. I have a trade route with every nation, Allied with the right people but now I am not sure what to do to increase skills. Does offering gifts work? I tried this a few times and while it seems to help relations I never get skillups.
Same with Merchants, these guys frustrate me, I have 2 merchant guild houses and I still crank out 1 trait merchants sometimes or max maybe is 3, super rare 4. But it seems to take eons to level them and then I get missions to take out a rival merchant who has 5 traits and its nigh impossible. I must have killed off 10 merchants with a 30% chance just trying and they always lose.
I tried searching but I may have missed something and tired so sorry if this has been asked b4.
Spies, they level up easy. Assasins, well at least I can always try subterfuge for them. But once the world is known I just cant seem to build up diplomats or merchants. Priests sometimes are same way if no inquistors around and the land is mostly catholic, but at least they do get a skill up now and then.
