My hat is off to you, sir. This is a GREAT idea! I was laughing so hard I almost fell off my chair, as the Milanese Cardinal who's been hanging outside of Constantinople for a decade now collapsed and died. I quoted you into the Tips and FAQs sticky thread, too. :medievalcheers:

I will use it only against inquisitors nevertheless.

Me too! This is über cheesy imho. CA will probably fix this if they find out.

Poetic Justice!!!

Look they are much too powerful to start with and most nobles killed were tried by the King and not the Church. Obviously a priest or friar might just disappear or accidentally fall from the battlements, with a hearty cheer from those fellows joined in to watch.

I did a good job of them with assassins until one was caught and I was excommunicated for the trouble.

A royal military option seems more than plausible and should not be changed:2thumbsup:

:P

They definitely should let you attack inquisitors with armies at the cost of excommunication (and the same with other agents at the cost of war) :P

Hehe, I used to use this trick to destroy navies in RTW. I called it "wolfpack hunting", where you surrround an enemy navy with single ships of your own and then attack it with one. If they won, the enemy navy had nowhere to retreat and was insta-killed :laugh4:

When the inquisitor is fully surrounded just place the last unit on the inquisitor. Simple!

Have you installed the patch?

I mean it probably does, but not for me cause I can't get it to work, the guy just escapes every time

I call that exploiting the game.. same as the fort with stack of merchants. I stay on the pope's good side as much as possible and Ive only had 2 guys get inquisited through all my time playing M2TW. Ive played roughly 600 turns of MANY campaigns as different catholic factions.

Another addition to my houserules I guess.

Yes I have. It still works.

If the guy's on open territory you need 8 troops to surround him, plus a ninth troop to squash him.

It should look like this:

MMM
MTM
MMM

Where the M's are your military units, and the T is the target. Then take another military unit (Not one of the guys surrounding him) and move it into the center. Boom. Dead target agent.

And indeed post patch it still works and is still needed!

well, I don't really agree. Why should my troops be able to kill a bothersome priest, iman or whatever? They have weapons, and have numerical advantage.

For example, when your spy detects an assassin nearby, and tells you exactly where he is, you are going to sent another assassin to kill him, OR are you going to send out your troops to surround and hunt him down?
