I need to appeal to the tech gurus for advice on replacing my ancient motherboard. I have given up on trying to find a 400-some pin processor that will fit and I know where to get a Pentium 4 on the cheap. I would like to be able to have my current hardware work on the new board. I would like the following:

Processor: Pentium 4 2.40 GHz 1MB Le-cache, 533 MHz FSB, PGA-478
Ram: 1.024 GHz DDR PC 2100
Graphics Card: NVIDA GeForce FX 5500

to be compatable with the new board. Is there something out there that would make this possible?

Hmm, well instead of giving you a fish, I'll teach you how to fish:

Go to hardware shopping websites, browse through the brands and spot the mobo's that your CPU and budget is compatible with. Note down the models and take a google shot saying " <brand name> <model name> review ". I'm sure you'll get loads of right-to-the-point reviews which you'll be rather satisfied with. That's what I always do in case I'm clueless or have spotted something dubious.

Actually I don't have any fish, that's why I showed you the long way..Ahem..

I've got to assume that GeForce FX5500 fits in an AGP slot, so your motherboard choices are going to be pretty narrow. Of the four choices, I'd probably opt for the MSI due to the Intel 865 chipset, but if a full-size board is wanted, then the ASUS (with SiS chipset) looks pretty good also.
