Online multiplayer question.. Please help

Hi I was playing rome total war online before. I want to play M2TW now but my old ID does not seem to work it says on M2TW signin that I need a free ID from gamespy
1) I already have one
2) When I go to gamespyID.com to try to login it prompts me to BUY! a member ship at $9.95 a mont could someone with experience please guide me here I would really appreciate it

in response to number two, use your old gamespy id first and on arcade search your drive where you installed M2TW and click search for games and it should work

The username you'd use for Rome total war would not work in MTW2. You need to get a new one on that site using your email, a username and a password which seems odd as you don't get rated.

Do you mean m2tw runs through the gamespy system instead of just using its services?
