Swapping Traits

I ve seen some quite good traits or relics acquired.
So how can i trade these between Generals and family members?
For example my King (playing as France) has the Spear of Destiny how can i pass it on to my son and heir?
It will be passed when my King dies or there is some kind of relic trading procedure between characters?

I wonder about the same thing.
Another reason for doing this would be to get rid of bad traits. For example, I would like to give a way my faction leaders Pagan Magician which gives -2 piety..

If they can be traded, just put your generals in the same stack and drag the ancillary or relic over from one general to the unit card of the other.

If they cannot be traded, you'll get some speech like "not possible, Sire".

It seems most ancillaries cannot be traded (tutors can) but at least some relics can. It would be good if people could post any ancillaries that can be traded and any relics that cannot.
