Does anyone know where it is possible to reliably find landsknecht mercenaries for recruitment? I am a bit put out that the Spanish get their tercios but the Germans don't get settlement-recruitable landsknechts.

I'd also been wondering if you could find condottieri mercenary troops (cavalry and or infantry) in Italy, I've not spent much time campaigning there in my last game (a lightning march, followed by ceding of everything south of Florence to the Papacy to ensure their goodwill meant decades of peace for Italy!).

If anyone else has found some other interesting mercenaries please speak up.

P.S. Hurrah for mercenary fleets!

There are Condottieri Mercs in the game, can confirm that. Italy has alot of merc availible (I have a full stack merc army reqruited in 1 turn, complete with Infantry, cav, archers, fire arms, those large rocket launcher things). Haven't seen Lansknechts although I didn't reqruit many mercs when in German lands

You have to take into account that Merc Landsknecht Pikemen should only be available from 1470 on.

If you want check which units you can recuit where ,how often, when and so on. Check this file "descr_mercenaries.txt" in "data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign".

You can chaneg all of theese factors there too, good modding~;)
