Do y aim for economic or military boom?

For early expansion as Hungary (VH/VH), I tend to build :

1. Church - to prevent Pagan Magician, to produce priest, to enhance piety of General (well, as there are so many pagan regions around Hungary)

2. Road - for faster movement of armies, generals, priests

3. Farm - to prevent traits of bad taxman, to increse income

4. military - to produce armies.

*For Budapest/Bran (starting Hungaruan regions), I will push military buildings forward.

Road first is always my priority. Dirt roads takes only 1 turn and provides substantial benefits (enabling my armies to keep up their rush onwards). Churches usually come next.

I always play campaigns on vh/vh and I think the way to success is to build economy and grow settlements as quickly as possible so you can support good military units before the neighbors. So for most games I do

Communal Farming
Grain exchange
Port
(Roads when combat starts and I need to resupply)

The only time I build churches very early is when there is religious unrest, for example when playing Russian and conquering muslim or catholic settlements.
