Hello everyone...

I have problem with my Medieval total war 1.0. When I first open a campaign map the small screen that indicates the units selected and the buildings into a selected province has black backround and the incons on it.

If I chose a city and then another city, the buildings of first city remains on the screen and the other citys building appear on same srceen. It is same as armies. The units of firstly chosen army dont dissappear when I select another army and they both on same screen.:help:

any ideas for solving this problem..?

thanks for advance...

sorry for my english.

Sounds like it may be graphics card related. Post up the specs of your graphics card, what OS you're using, the driver version and any other specs. Also download and install the MTW v1.1 patch before doing anything else.

When I choose a castle with soldiers in it, it becomes like this...

Seems no problem with foreign provinces...

You'r running on an integrated graphics chip. The driver date apears to be 2003. There must be an update byt now. Your PC/Laptop (I'm guessing a laptop though not sure) manufacturer's website should have available drviers for your machine. Update to the latest version and see if it makes a difference. Your problem looks like it may be caused by a simple driver glitch, and nothing more, so updating should do the trick. If you can't get the latest version at your laptop manufacturers website then the chip needs to be identified in order to download the latest drviers directly from Intel. Checking in Device Manager should give you the type of graphics chip installed.

Welcome to the Org, HeroSK! I'm not much of a tech wiz myself, but you're already in the capable hands of Manco Capac anyway. ~:)

Definitely check for the latest drivers for your video card, though. That could very well be the problem.

Thanks for your advices..

I searched the net and INTEL's website I couldnt find any update.

Before this happened, I was playing for a very long time properly. I wanted to see my TGAs (screenshots) and I used Irfan view. I used the program for some bif files.

Could this be the reason for the problem..?

Well... I'm not sure about that, unless you might have saved some of the files, but I think you should first try uninstalling MTW, removing the MTW directory and reinstall it. When it is reinstalled, immediately apply the v1.1 patch. See if the problem is still there.

Can you give me the details of your motherboard, that way I can check to see if a driver update is available elsewhere?

Is your machine a branded system? If so, post the model number. If not reboot and check from the BIOS screen. The motherboard revision number is usually near the bottom. You can hit the pause key to write everything down. If not then you can try using a program that inspects your hardware configuration such as everest: http://www.lavalys.com/
