I have a question.
when i look at pictures of armies that people have posted the numbers of troops in a given unit sometimes goes up to 120. how do you do this, all of my units only have the normal 70 for infantry, 40 for cav., how can i get more troops into a given unit? (see pic, it's not mine)

in ur game options menu theres an option named "unit size" or something like that, its there to help optimization, people with slower machines can crank down unit size so big battles dont pwn there cpu's. i dont know wot affect changing it will have mid campaign, in Medieval 1, it crashed the game, hopefully it isnt the same here :D

I believe in Rome changing it didn't affect a campaign already in progress, might be different in Medieval 2. I'd definately recommend it if you're computer can handle it, goes a long way to making the battles seem more real IMO.

Huge unit size is the only way to play. I've been using it since MTW, and it never crashed my game.

i don't think you quiet understand what i'm saying, i'm not talking about their size as in 5 foot 8 but as in the number of actually soldier.
i forgot to post the pic but here it is, should clear things up.

We do understand what you're talking about, and there's a setting in the game options. Just set the "Unit Size" setting to Huge and your infantry squads will have 150 men in them.

Here, I'll make it easy for you. This is a screenshot of the option in question:

Apropos nothing, I did a little digging and the unit sizes are:

Huge: 150/120/80/40
Large: 112/90/60/30
Normal: 75/60/40/20
Small: 60/48/32/16

where the first number is spears etc; the second missiles/swords etc; the third is cav and the last is generals bodyguard.
