View Full Version : Next Campaign - Portugal or Sicily?
I'm working on a short campaign right now with the HRE just to unlock the other factions quickly and to get a feel for the game. For my next campaign I'm leaning towards either Portugal or Sicily. Any suggestions on which one to take? What it comes down to is unit selection vs starting position. I like Sicily for starting position, but Portugal for unit selection, and so I'm stuck on which to choose.
Having fought against them as Byzantium, i'd have to say go for sicily - they have a great starting position and decent units (plus, they look great ;) )

Sicily, they are great fun. You have an easy time making money and they a have an excellent starting position. They have pretty good units too.
Sicily you can pretty much do anything you want. I mean you can straight up raid either Greece (Byzantine), Africa (Moors), and you can even go for Spain or Turkey for viable choices. Very high variety of options and the units look great. The fuedal knights in a shined grey and white killing everything can make your day.

Go for Sicily ! It will feel like playing just like good old scipii ;)
Go for Portugal, just to be different.
Actually is a bit like Spain, with maybe a few better defensive line-up, from my experience. Consolidate the Peninsula, maybe Bordeux and Toulouse, since the French will harrass you anyway, and stomp the Moors.

mmm, I unlocked all the factions rightaway.. In hindsight, it would have been nice to 'earn' them.. (could allways lock them back up).
