first off yes i know there is a bug post to post in but i dont know if this is really classed as a bug or not, so i thought id get other peoples thoughts first.

So have u ever noticed that when u conquor Ai cities tehy ALWAYS have a lv 1 theives guild built, IN EVERY CITY, and when i say every city i MEAN every city. My guess would be the ai is designed to accept the first guild offered and since there seems to be almost no pre requisit for theives guilds that is the first that gets offered. Now most of the time this isnt really an issue, i mean, generally the ai doenst really need the assistance granted by merchants guilds/assasins/theologians, but it does mean that the ai misses the chace to recruit some unique units such as crusader knights (templar etc), hasishim(SP), and sherwood archers.


so neway let me know wot yall think, if def a bug ill add it to the bug thread. also let me know if its already been pointed out :D

I have believed the same thing for a good while now... And that is of course a shame.

I doubt it is a bug, but the AI seems a bit misguided here.

It's less of a bug than a slight mis-forethought thing :juggle2:. While I agree it's a bit of a problem, it only means two things :

- that AI spies will be a pain in the kiester all campaign long
- that a future GoodMod (tm) will script that kind of thing out of the game, with checks like {IF player != England THEN faction=England has.guild Foresters in=Nottingham, Wales} or stuff like that, basically giving the AI cultural/essential guilds from the get-go.
