....where are they? Is there a list like there is for VI? I miss 'em and have had only two thus far - pointless with the passive AI bug but I'm getting ready for the patch...

I think the AI is smart enough to not rush over the bridge.

I've had loads - if you park a stack on a bridge on the main route between you and your enemy, then theyre bound to try to force their way through eventually.

Had a really nice one against the HRE the other day - a really nice bridge map with steep forrested hills on either side of the river. I had loads of archers in my defensive stack, but the HRE brought quite a few cannons along to the party.

Since they had cannons they decided not to cross until they'd sat there bombarding the crap out of me from the other side of the river - which forced *me* to cross the bridge to take them out. Quite a harsh battle - i won, but only just by the skin of my teeth - when it should have been a whitewash for my side.

From now on i'm gonna make double sure i have artillery on my side of the bridge.

I had an awesome one in Venice where I was an attacker surrounded by the defending army of 900 across the bridge and their reinforcement army of 800 behind me. The defending army crossed the bridge though so I was able to take them out with my foot soldiers while using my cavalry against the army behind me.

Bridges are saving me from total collaspe in my H/VH HRE campaign, since I'm at war with the Polish, Hungarians, English, Danes, Milanese, Venetians, and French. Every turn I get to have a heroic battle on some bridge somewhere.

It all depends wether the bridge is "strategical" or not. If they can just move around in two or three turns, they will. If there's another way to attack you, they'll find it. Only when it's the last option available will they go for a bridge attack (or mountain attack, btw).

The bridges in the Russian steppes are mostly useless for example, but the ones in Spain or Venice can definitely be exploited.
