So, those wacky Holy Roman Imperialists were besieging a castle of mein. I send a relieving force of one general(whom I got earlier through Man of the Hour event).

After winning, I get this:

I adopted him again for fear of losing him. I wonder if he would have exploded if I said no. <_<

Hmm... odd...

But you didn't happen to have a savegame just prior to the battle? If you do, try to make it happen again (win the battle). If it happens again, then there is something specific about that general and you should save that game in another location (in the hopes that we might be able to send it to someone who can find out what is going on).

But in any case, this seems like a small bug (not much of a problem really).

Yes, I do have the game saved from the turn before the battle(if you want it). I just re-ran it a couple times and it didn't trigger Man of the Hour event again, so I guess it just freaked out the first time.

Maybe he was just a general before, and the second event elevated him to family member status?

Since it can't be remade I think it is better to just post it in the bug-thread. There isn't much we can do, and as I said this is hardly a problem.

Hey, I know this guy... he's not some random guy you get through a man of the hour event. He's one of the starting generals for france that are NOT part of your ruling family. You have him from the start with quite a few traits, but he won't show up in your family tree. I he illustrates himself in battle, one of your family members will offer to adopt him and now he will show up.

You say you had a man of the hour message for him before... so was he already showing up in your family tree before that? I only seem to get this behaviour with the starting generals from the campaign settings. All other "man of the hours" I get show up directly in my family tree. Anyone has a different experience?

Strange. As Zoltan says, Raoulet Poitevin is a starting General for the French.
