The mom who calls the cops on her son for the theft of his own Christmas present, or the kid for being a little #####.

Well, I can definitely decide who the bigger waster of police time is.
In fairness to the kid, though-a GBA? Come on, where's his DS or PSP? Put some effort in, grandma!

63 years old and a great grandma? My great grandma is 100. This family obvously has other problems that happy fingers.
She said the boy likes attention
I have this feeling the mother likes to have a bit of attention too...
"I'm trying to get him some kind of help," she said
What about herself?

I think the mother wins hands down.
If the child is so badly behaved, surely spoiling him further with expensive presents is compounding the problem? Looks like the old "bribe him to let mommy get on" ploy to me.
Glad to see they are seeking parenting help though. I can't imagine what the police were doing by actually charging him though - perhaps he wouldn't perform an appropriately ethnic dance routine?
Well apparantly the mother is sending him away for correction
The mother told police officers that she would have the boy placed with the state Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia at his court appearance.

Yet another wonderful child who'll probably contribute nothing to society when he's older. Most likely he'll become a crack addict and feed his addiction by committing petty crimes, which get worse and worse until he finds himself behind bars for murder.
I personally think that little ****s like this should be locked up the moment they start committing crimes, save society a whole lot of trouble.

Little #@#$'s like that start out as innocent children. Children are taught from their parents how to act and behave and even form a style of thought. He's only 12, by locking him away your puting him with much older children who have done far worse. He'll only learn to be a crack addicted murderer inside. What he needs is some counseling. And so does the mother, probably more so then the child.
Instead of locking just locking them up. Maybe handing out free condom's would do more to help society. Honestly some people just shouldn't be parents. I also highly doubt anyone should, could be a parent at the age of 15.
Not to mention a 63 year old great grandma. Yeah that family could use some help.
I'm just glad the cops didn't bash the door in and shoot the kid while he was playing. ~D

... or, worse, that they didn't get shot by the great-grandma...although, in truth, she is a bit young, so perhaps she wouldn't have had enough time to have a decent aim....:beam:

That's exactly what I was thinking. The GBA was a common christmas present many a year ago.

Well, if you get your kids that early, you are likely to be not very rich.
What this family needs are some fundamental morals or anything else that makes them form a decent opinion about when to get kids and how to raise them.
