Ave everyone!

You may or may not know that I do Roman historical reenacting. My unit, the Second Cohort of the Second Legion "Triana Fortis" ("Trajan's Strong"), based in Colorado, is having a meeting/get-together on December 23rd. Since I know that many of us here are interested in Roman history, and because we always need new people, I thought I'd mention this so people could come and ask any questions, get to know us, etc.

Please note that entering into the world of reenacting is not something to be taken very lightly. You will be required to know about various aspects of Rome and be willing to learn more. Reenacting is also very expensive, and you will always need to make sure that anything you purchase is historically accurate and justifiable. We will of course help out with this, and there are excellent sources on the web, but you'd be surprised how many stories there are of people who get the wrong helmet because it "looks alright" or because its slightly cheaper, only to learn that they just bought useless junk.

So, for those of you in Colorado who are seriously interested in this, please PM me and I'll let you know any additional information you'll need, answer any questions, etc. You can also see our website; it's in my signature.

Vale!

I don't like bumping my own thread, but I'm going to do it because the next meeting is approaching quickly (although of course you don't have to actually attend the meeting to join, it'd just be nice).

Wow...

I was hoping SOMEONE might have an interest... but, then, how many people here are even from Colorado...

...last bump. Promise.
