Okay, let me just first say that I am in no way a computer expert, a MOD expert, nor an EB expert, however I have been tracking its progress for about a year and was quite excited to have 0.8. Unfortunately, after downloading it and installing it on top of (what I think is) a fresh RTW 1.5 file it does not work. I get to where I can select a faction from the Imperial Campaign but when I proceed the program simply shuts down. I can not do any Historical Battles because it gives me the message "Please select an item from the list" the same thing occurs when I try to play the Prologue. Please, can someone help this MOD-noob and relieve his absolute frustration over not being able to play this much anticipated game.

We don't have any historical battles ready for it yet. Prologue doesn't work either for these mods.

So, you have to make sure not only that your 1.5 build *is* actually 1.5, but that no other base files in it have been changed - that it is indeed a clean 1.5 build. If you've done that, there's no way it shouldn't work. We've had about a couple of thousand people download it since the release and this definitely works.

Sounds like the version is right, but map.rwm is either failing to generate properly or there is already a wrong one there. Search your EB installation directory for a file called map.rwm and delete any occurrances of it.

Thanks guys, I'm doing a fresh install just to make sure, then we'll get to the bottom of this problem! I hope to be playing soon.

Sorry to say it but I uninstalled everything, reinstalled everything, patched everything, and then installed EB and still didn't work. Same problem - I just don't know what to do.

Once again, uninstalled, reinstalled, patched, and installed EB over top didn't work. Tried Cheex's instructions for installing and playing it over BI and had the exact same problem. What could the problem possibly be?

You must have a "clean" (never modified) install of RTW 1.0. Then you must patch it with the 1.3 patch followed by the 1.5 patch. Prologue, Historical and Quick Battles don't work. Only Imperial Campaign and Custom Battles.

And make sure you delete the map.rwm after you have installed EB 0.8...

Thanks for all your help everyone. I finally got it to work, playing it over BI. What was happening was when I installed RTW it went in at 1.5 - then when I installed BI over that it bumped it back down to 1.3 for some reason. So I patched RTW to 1.5 and made sure BI was at 1.6 and now everything's fine. Beyond fine, hell it's an incredible game. I really appreciate you higher ups taking time out of your busy MOD-life to help a plebe such as myself.

Yessir! I've only played for about 6 hours since successful play initiated, but I've seen not a single bug, crash, or anything suggesting imperfection. Quite the contrary, I have actually noticed how incredible everything is (especially the AI).

Interesting... on my 1.5 unmodded version of RTW , it didn`t want to run the campaign game, only custom battle...

I oververrified everything, and i still have no rational explanation for this.

It has nothing to do with the memory of my PC, or something related, as the battles are loading very fast and they go smoothly.
