everytime I try to play it says "failed to initialize 3D audio" and I can't play can anyone help me fix this problem.

You could try to reinstall your sound card or something, im no expert...

Go to the CD and find the following file:
mss32.dll
then go to your RTW folder and paste.Try again

when I pasted it it said I already had that file, its still having the same problem and when I try to un-install it so I can re-install it, it the demo shield wizard loads half way thrgough and than just cuts off.

First, delete it manually.Then, use a registry cleaner, such as RegCleaner or CCleaner.Make a copy of your reg, always!Then install it.
