About a year ago I got intresed in R:TW, i loved it, I then tried out out M:Tw, it wasnt as good as R:TW but still good, I had seen S:TW about but didnt bother thinking it was badder than the rest, I then tried the M2:TW demo, and im hooked, now youre wondering why i am rabbiting on? Well i recently checked out Shogun Total War, and I love, i wonder how i missed such a game! Please tell me everything about! Nations,Units,Gameplay,Gracphics, Go mad about it! Tell me everytinhg about S:TW!:guitarist:
Strange that you started out with RTW and went back to MTW and didn't like it, and have now gone back further to STW and you think it's great. I doubt you gave MTW much of a chance somehow...

Welcome to the wonderful world of STW Warluster.
You ask a very open-ended question. You might want to start by looking back through some of the threads in this forum. There are some fairly recent ones that discuss some of the great things about STW. The Early TW Days (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=69490) thread is a good one to start.
Hey all, first post for me....
I've been playing STW for a couple of years and bought MTW to give it a try. So far I like the simple rock/paper/scissors and take the high ground simplicity of STW. I'll play MTW more over the winter to see if I warm up to it.
Enjoy the site, keep it up guys.

Welcome to the Org, Milo. ~
I enjoy and play both games. MTW has a lot to offer as well, but it does take some getting used to after playing Shogun. Given time, I think you'll come to see that as well. ~:)

Well, its okay, i just didnt like the board, thats all, the battles were okay, but nothing compared to M2:TW!
Welcome Warluster!
The thread Gregoshi linked to is very nice... but there's much more nice threads around, some searching may be required though. ~;)

In original Shogun there isn't nations. The entire game is going on in the soil of Japan. Japan is divided into several clans, each with a head. What you must do, then, is defeat the other clans thus reaching military supremacy over Japan and becoming Shogun, commander in chief of the armed forces of Japan.
Spies, Geishas and ninjas roam the board, trying to make the life miserable for generals, priests and emisseries. The game is a lot simpler than the other TW games, since it was the first, however, the atmosphere is brilliant and it's still a great game.
