I'm just wondering how complete this new faction is and wether it is worth starting a campaign?

No point. It's very un-finished. I tried a campaign and it's armies are made up mostly of placeholders.

I remember reading somewhere that the EB members said that the three newest factions would be much better for gameplay within a few updates, but right now they're not very complete

We actually have a number of Saba units done that are in our latest pre-.8 internal version, but we had an EDU issue and they didn't make it in .8. They'll definatly be in the upcoming patch though.

I played an 80-turn Saba game last weekend and it was a hard core, rockin' good time! I was at war with Ptolemaioi and the Seleukids, and battling those heavy greek phalanx troops with what is largely a skirmisher army.....well, it's REAL challenging! One of the really cool things is that you have a similar game-play benefit to that enjoyed by the historical Sabaens - you can see the enemy coming for many turns before they reach you. So you have time to gather up the right kind of troops to take on each invading force, and to rebuild after the inevitable heavy losses.

That's a great strategy for defending the homeland area, but I suspect the shoe will be on the other foot when Saba tries to launch a military operation on the other end of the Arabian Desert.
