Alright, that's it, I'm making a donation to EB. I have only been playing for a few weeks, some of you guys might remember me asking questions in the forums. But in these few weeks, I have became an absolute fan of EB, so much that, despite having already bought M2TW, I still haven't even opened it!! i will follow this game to the end of the world!! (sarcasm involved  ......but nevertheless....) At my first glance, I already knew this mod was perfect for me; the history, the added features, the map, the traits, the government, there is too many to list! The efforts you guys have put in is evident. I am utterly surprised and amazed that you guys could show such determination, despite not getting paid or recieivng any rewards. I know, you guys do it for the passion, the interest, and the kindness, not for the money. In fact, you guys would even make a better game than those CA guys who get paid!! But as a token of appreciation, I will make a donation. Keep up the good work guys, I really love this mod!!

Good for you. It's like donating to a charity, but instead it doesn't go to the fat cats at the top - it goes to the people who need it most - the members of EB.

The only thing that costs money is the upkeep of the server and homepage. Donations can be submitted on our homepage and are used exclusively to this purpose (if we are well off we may not even accept donations). Sometimes software licences may be relevant too.

Apart from this we are a non-profit community working for fame and recognition. So what you can do - basicly your duty as a hardcore fan - is to promote EB. Tell it to others, tell it to media if you have connections, or even schools, museums... And in time we can achieve something: we can gain more prestige, thus getting more support from CA whatever.
EB is not a mod any longer. Now it is a concept. The difference is that when you start a mod, you do research, try things, and things are redone couple of times.
Now we are in a state, where porting to MTW2 can be acchieved by planned implementation of refined features while applying the additional features available.
We have the research, we have music we have sounds. We know what needs to be done. It can be planned.

Bottomline: it is all done for you, all we need is your support, kind words and your continuous promotion of EB.

I wouldn't say the people who need it most necessarily, just deserve it. And that they do. This mod never ceases to amaze me. It's an experience.

Holy moly, that's the best post I've ever seen. So confident about a successful and awesome port to M2TW, it's a reality! Oh sweet Hallelujah, it's a reality! I can't wait. Oh and, I suppose they could need the money afterall, I forgot about servers and so on.

Well, I was wondering where the money my donation goes. So you mean it won't be given to the EB creators, but instead used to maintain the website?

Yes, and we don't always accept donations, I think.

Edit: FYI

Donation Disclaimer
The Europa Barbarorum project is a modification of Rome: Total War and is provided free of charge for anyone who wishes to download and play it. This was the intention from its inception and will of course remain so in perpetuity.

However, in the last few months, Vercingetorix (one of our most esteemed Members) has purchased web hosting and a dedicated server to help us develop the project and to assist in distributing the fruits of our labours to the community. The cost of maintaining these resources has been thus far been paid out of his own pocket. However, the EB team has decided after some debate (and clarification from CA and Sega) to add a Donations button to help Vercingetorix pay for the resources he has put at our (and your) disposal.

Any donations will strictly go for server maintenance and for paying for any excess bandwidth used. If the required amount has been met, the Donations button will be removed. You can keep an eye on progress of donations at our Donations Chart, which will be regularly updated.

The EB team thanks you for your generous support.
