Well i failed my first two campaigns pretty badly. But now im playing a new one and at turn ~110 i have 32 regions and am making about 15-20k per turn. Is this where i should be to achieve victory? I'm also in place to take out spain, Portugal, and Denmark pretty easily. and HRE if i want.

if i beat the game can i play as the Mongols? because ive never ran into them. what about Timur? also, when the new world opens up, will there even be competition? i will have controlled pretty much all of the west coast by then.

also, to raise priests stats, do i have to send them out of my city or can i just keep them there?

thanks

depends on the factions and difficultily level. I like to take my time with campagins to really enjoy all units, that being said i beat milian on h/h around turn 190, but i wanted to travel to the new world with them and fight the aztecs and have gunpowder un its aprart of nearly every army and such, that sounds fine IMO.

You cant play as Mongols Timurids or Aztecs without the mod in the modding section. The Papal States work fine if you play them, you just cant see how respected you are by yourself....

The priest does not have to be outside city/castle to work.

Turn 110, 32 regions is great. 15-20k is decent profit.

However for 32 regions, IMO, 20K is low. I would be investing in population growth and merchants, markets, ports etc to increase this.

My playstyle is to max income as quick as possible. In my current game I have 17 regions and and am making 21K average profit/turn (which I feel is low as well). Note that I'm playing on 0.5 which means 1 turn = 6 months.

The best thing to do to raise stats for priests is to actively hunt down Heretics and Witches. And to send the priests to areas, anywhere, where % of your religion is less than 25% (or very low generally). Leave them there and they will accumulate piety as they convert the locals.

Oh, my military upkeep is really high. Realllly high. Its because i learned that if i dont have a good military, ill keep on getting attacked and then getting screwed, like my last campaign.

How much is your miltary upkeep ? What's the figure ? If you want you post your financial overview, and I can try give you a hand if you need it.

In the long run, if you don't have the economy you can't support the military (unless you are constantly sacking cities). But as you are at 32 regions, you probably can go for 45 and win the game with your current income level. All depends how you want to play. My military upkeep is low (but it is high as a percentage of revenue) because I don't have any surpluss units at all, 4 all cavalry armies, 1 defensive infantry army and the rest are free upkeep militie (except in castles).

Also what's the difficulty level ?

Depends on your playstyle and difficulty.
Looking at your stats, it seems you are a defensive player who likes to take time and use diplomacy extensively and just defend borders without doing much in terms of attacking, except maybe in the first few turns.

Your stats are OK although on the low end, but then that depends on what 32 regions you got. If you got mostly russian regions and lower african ones, you tend to have a lower income than if you have italian and greek ones. You'd probably want to aim some 5-10k higher than what you get though, although admittedly having more income than you can spend is a bad thing due to generals picking up bad traits.

In my new turkish campaign (with massive amounts of rebels due to an error on my part) on VH/VH, I got 40 regions (thats what the overview says, but it seems to be less to me), and a profit of 40-50k a turn at turn 46. But then I'm an aggressive player and like fighting wars at multiple fronts while having minimal defenses in the heartland and very high taxes where possible.

Well, i think military upkeep is about 35k last time i checked. Im a mix of defensive and offensive. I wait around a while until i can build up an army to take a city (or two or three even). If i dont leave army in my border cities, or sometimes even particular heartland cities, the computer just comes and destroys me. not necesarily take over the city, but they fight and fight and fight and i cant do anything; i just produce more units who end up dying so its like i get no where.

i have all the italian cities (all of sicily, not Rom tho-the papal states have it, of course), all the french, scottish, a couple portoguese cities and a few milanese cities, as well as all the english ones (duh) and a couple rebel ones to the west of italy (islands).

im playing on medium/medium.
