I checked that EB still has the major problem of RTW of infinite arrows without garrison at towers in citys......
This is a major problem for me, as Human i easily can avoid it and conquer the towers, but AI don't! It attack under tower fire, and don't conquer towers, in result when they arrive to city center they had more than 30/40% losses without fight agaisnt human. :furious3:
I want to disable it! I don't want arrows in walls....... Can any of you, EB modders, please tell me what i must change to do it please? :help:

Sure brother.
Here is the DIY: https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=56980&highlight=wooden+walls
Tested and solved.
Here's what I did:
Edit desc_projectiles_new.txt (or whatever is used by your version)
Copy and paste the arrow entry and renamed that "arrow2".
Changed firey arrows to link to arrow2 instead of the original arrow.
Made the original arrow entry to have a max and min angle of 100.
Change all the entries in EDU.txt of "arrow" into "arrow2".
It isn't easy for new modders, but it will be included in my upcoming unofficial mods for EB, though I'm gonna wait till 0.82 to get em out.

fallen851!!!!!!!
Thanks!!!!!! You rock man!!! I will try it now!!!!
Thnx fallen. I wanted this too, since it's always too tempting to leadthe AI around the city and letting them be eaten up by the towers.

Indeed, but worse is when I'm holding units in reserve in the city, and then the AI takes my towers, and when I try to get my reserves to engage, they are at half strength... causing me to lose the battle...
is the official eb game/build/team whatever going to disable this or atleast severely lower the rate or accuracy of fire?

Not for 0.81, but we'll take a look for 0.82.

I have a really bad feeling we won't be seeing 0.82 until next summer...
I wish the scope of 0.82 would be limited.
Im not sure I would like to see wall arrows go. It already bothers me that when I stick archers on walls, their ammo runs out - surely if you are defending a city, you would get people to bring you more ammo, after all the whole infrastructure is there, not like on a battlefield where you are limited by what you can carry. Arrows from towers sort of compensate for the fact that your archers run out of ammo, but they arent quite the same. Losing that small bonus would just weigh the battle in favour of the besiegers, and I dont think cities were that easy to break into by force. Starvation seems a much more plausible strategy, which is why I always starve cities into submission when I play.

Well if you want to look at the facts, EB has a long standing tradition of missing "intended" release dates.
In fact, I started a thread on just this topic only a short time ago, and it in you called me a "prat" and bunch other names, and then the thread was locked.
So my comment was indeed fact based, I'm using your past history to attempt to predict what will happen in the future. This is exactly what happens when people try to predict the stock market, the weather, football games, ect. And it is a far better system of prediction then that used by non-prats (I'am assuming you and the most of the EB team is non-prat since I am a prat and obviously your system has been a failure)
So why you continue to pick fights with me I don't know. I didn't think you cared enough about my opinion to post something like that. Obviously you do, or you wouldn't have posted that. So if you want to change my opinion, how about change the facts (see my first sentence about EB missing intended release dates)?
Or if you don't care about my opinion, despite the evidence, why not just not "stoop" down to my level and respond to my "insightful" comments if you are superior? Maybe because you are no better than me... But I'm just a prat...
And sure, you are welcome.
To be fair, they only missed their release deadline by 6 days. Thats actually pretty good going, if you look at the record of more 'professional' organisations...
The fact that they actually delivered what they promised, and then some, and didnt double the costs while they were at it (!) puts them leagues ahead of such groups. For example (apologies for using a local analogy) The Bath Spa (http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk_news/story/0,,1835796,00.html) project was 3 YEARS late, and a trifling £30 million over budget...

Sure, just like the Big Dig project in Boston. Over-budget, killing people, and a huge waste.
But the political leaders responsible do not respond like this:
"Its these insightful, fact-based comments that we so love",
When people say "the Big Dig has taken so long, what makes you think this deadline will hold?"
They respond by saying "we changed this... so it doesn't happen again". I hope the same is true about the BathSpa leaders. (Or maybe answering like that is an English thing? Perhaps that is problem with the EB team for me, perhaps the difference between what a British Commander and what an American Commander are ordered to do when a lifeboat has too many people, is philosophically the same as the difference between them and me, a question of the authority and responsibility of the those in command.)
That is the difference between a professional organization, and one that isn't, the willingness to not only accept responsibility for failures, but to change their organization to avoid failure in the future, and while EB 0.80 was late and Khelvan apologized, has there been any major changes in party line about future releases?
Not from what I've read.
Failures??? If 0.8 is a failure, then I hope the EB team continues to fail in such spectacular fashion!
My friend, I think you are failing to grasp an essential point here. The EB team are doing this for fun and for their own satisfaction. They are not doing this for profit, and as such bear no responsibility to us, the fans. Naturally if they make a high quality mod, people will enjoy and support it, but in the end they are not beholden to us at all. What they choose to put in, and when they choose to release, they have no need to either justify to us, or make excuses for, if they fall beyond an arbitrary date set by themselves.

fallen851,
I think we understand your viewpoint now. Let's drop the topic and agree to disagree before this thread turns into another flame-fest.
PorT Lobo,
Well done mate, just downloaded the files and will check them out soon. I encourage others to do the same, too ~:)
