The rain doesnt effect your rate of fire for bows. It effects their damage. As I've seen in the game it can really hurt your bows strength when your in the rain. Always best to avoid if you have a heavy archer based army.

Yeah I noticed that as well in game, but I mean how much does it effect in reality, not in game.

The Asiatic Composite falls apart in damp weather.......LOL!!! It's hilarious. The Huns never saw rain then? How on earth did Chingis and Jamuka manage when they met in a snowstorm?
Who are these people who claim these things?
Speak to Hungarian bowyer Csaba Grozer, I have. Ask him about his composite bows and rain, I have.
All but torrential rain is fine.(and torrential rain only spoils the finish)

I discussed this very subject with Grozer, who makes composite bows in the traditional fashion with fish bladder glue etc. He advised me that I should try to avoid using the bow in heavy rain as the finish of the bow would soon deteriorate. Well since I am in the U.K where the weather is ALWAYS fine and sunny ( :laugh4: ) I decided to pass on a true composite in favour of a bow using modern technology. The performance is the same though the price is quite different, over £500 different!! When you see the finish on his composites and their price tags only a fool or a very rich man would voluntarily use them in anything but fine weather.
The bows I use are both Hun bows made by Grozer and Kassai. They both incorporate neutral ash wood at the handle and siyahs and fibreglass replaces the horn and sinew combination. The limbs are then enclosed with leather. I have also used a Magyar and a Mongol bow but the Hun out performs both IMO.
