Hello, I wanted to ask if there is anyway to replay battles fought in the long campaign. When the stat screen shows after a battle the camera button is never there.
I foudn this thread while using the search to look for another answer to replays.
There is a way (for anyone who wants to know):
1. End campaign battle.
2. ALT+TAB to windows.
3. Go to \Medieval II Total War\temp\campaign_battle.rpy
4. Copy campaign_battle.rpy
5. Go to \Medieval II Total War\replays
6. Paste campaign_battle.rpy.
7. Rename it to whatever you want but make sure to have .rpy in the file extension.
Now you can watch this replay from Battle Replays in the main menu. Hope that helps.
That's great, finally I can relive my empires greatest moments!:2thumbsup:
I have a question. Is the battle replay bugged and/or messed up?
I once play a short custom siege battle against an AI opponent in a city. I took the city, crushed the enemy, and got victory. But when I viewed the battle replay, instead of having the same thing, I saw my troops got confused and disordered, and the city defenders easily slaughtered my men, these are the exact opposite of the battle I have just played. To me, the replay battle seems to be a complete re-work of the real battle instead of a "recorded battle".
Anyone might be able to explain?
Sure...
The replay is a set of commands that were issued. I don;t think the commands are 100% accurate all the time. They seem to change.
For example I did a heroic victory earlier this evening playing Turks, 11 vs 20 units. Turks were all basic cavalry units, enemies were all elite. Anyway I won big time, 100 losses and 1000 kills. Almost everything went perfect.
I reloaded the replay and it was perfect. I watched it again, and again, 3 times ... it was perfect EXACTLY how it happened. I watched it several times because I wanted to take special note of my mistakes.
Then I got myself a glass of rum and sat down to watch it a final time and this time it was completely messed up.
They are buggy but they can work a lot of the time. What I've read also is that smaller battles tend to get buggy less frequently in replays. I imagine siege replays are the worst.
