Short Campaign?

Is there a working short campaign option for EB? I love the game, but I can't invest a bajillion hours into a long campaign.

Is there any reason I couldn't just quickly mod in short campaign victory conditions (say 15 provinces and outlive 2 or 3 local factions) for the faction I want to play?

Anyone know how I would do this? The victory conditions file is blank. I'm comfortable modd'ing scripts if needed. I'm just too lazy for a long campaign. :=)

I'd recommend waiting more than a mere 9 hours for a question like this. Also, in EB outliving a faction could mean your in for the long haul unless you actively destroy it. In which case choose a weaker faction and just for that. Baktria has relatively small victory conditions and to destroy/outlive a few factions. You could always just decide your own victory conditions and play the long term campaign. You won't get a special message, but you will have achieved your goal.

There is a descr_win_conditions.txt file in the campaigns folder. It is blank in EB as they have scripted ones.

I *think* actual short campaigns can't have specific cities as part of their conditions, only outliving x faction.

But as EB has their own scripted victory conditions you can make your own version of a short campaign by adding a record in the blank descr_win_conditions.txt file.

not sure if you can safely remove the short campaign lines but either way you can ignore the game's short campaign and EB's main victory conditions and make your own short version of a campaign.

been meaning to do this for myself as for certain factions I like short campaigns with more limited objectives. so far i've just had those conditions in my head but it's nice to get the actual victory message. haven't tried it with EB yet though so can't say for sure if it is problem-free.
