Tuaregs!

Its a love it or hate it situation for me in terms of how the Tuaregs are represented in MTWII.

Love: Their awsome in the Sahara, Ive had many battles with Tuareg cavalry on my side (and had to fight many tuaregs as well), they are fast and able to break apart weak infantry with ease.

Hate: Way too weak! Their attack and skill are not represented at all as they should be. These men were born from the harshest conditions one could imagine, and their skill and stamina should be double what they already are. Also, they forgot to include the "Takouba" or the sword of the Tuareg. These warriors were expert swordsmen and could easily make mincemeat of any of the swordsmen I have faced so far (the best being sudanese mercs :beam: ).

Otherwise, I'm impressed that CA included them in game, and enjoy having them on my side :2thumbsup: ! LONG LIVE THE TUAREG!!!!!!!!!!

They are very cool. I am just annoyed that they have 300 gold (!!!) upkeep - more than most high-end knights.

Tuaregs are great vs cavalry. I'm playing my Moor diplomacy camapaign atm and am trying to mass those tuaregs to fight christians. The problem with them is that they are much slower than cav and cannot charge into infantry.
I was baffled when they charged into spear militia and they first row of tuaregs just died and killed maybe 2 of those militia heh.

OTOH I had a defensive line of xbows and tuaregs behind them. By the time enemy cav reached the line, the cav roted because they smelled camel :)

Good info Sinan, Ive done alot of research as well and found them to be Really misrepresented. If your interested in Music, check out http://tinariwen.artistes.universalmusic.fr/. They are a band called "Tinariwen" (literally 'the void', in Tamasheq) and were originally rebels against Mali, but traded in their Ak's for guitars.

Also, I should post it, but I own an honest to goodness Takouba. Maybe I should change my sig from "wannabe Tuareg" to "Tuareg" :laugh4:

Edit: Also, the band mentioned above came to Minneapolis to play for a local Somali/Ethiopian club, I didn't get a chance to go, but apparently it was awsome. As they left, they supposedly went and hung in Minneapolis for a few days!!!!
