Well this patch isnt quite compatible with the d2d and steam versions. Can I please have my money back CA? This is utterly ridiculous. Gotta wait til d2d posts their super unique patch which will hopefully work...gah

lol go figure Melon, I know they wasn't going to fix it. I say just return the game to the store, or get your money back and buy the game at the actual store then..

It looks like the patch (which is coming out today) may fix that problem as they report they have fixed the "multinational support" which I think might have been the problem... anyway, try the patch once its released (supposedly today).

Yes this is the whole point of the post, the patch DOESNT work for steam users.

Thats pretty lame, you'd think they could fix that. Maybe there's some bad blood between them? Have you asked D2d for your money back so you can buy a hard-colpy? If they won't give you your $$ then I'd say D2d/Steam might not be the best place to get MP games. They sold you a game that doesn't do what it should. If they have a problem giving your money back, they should take it up with CA/Sega; but I dont think that's your crusade-- I'd concentrate on the guys who took your money and sold you a defective product.

Direct2Drive finally released the patch, after wasting my whole day of anticipation. grumble grumble.

thought i saw you in red this evening....:laugh4:

still makes no sense why the game wouldn't be compatible from the get go though...

Hey, you shouldn't need to install any patch for Steam versions, just restart Steam and it should be patched up. Supposedly. In fact, I think the Steam autopatch came out way before the downloadable version for the rest of us.

so, what exactly is the advantage for a Steam user? Faster delivery of the product?

Faster delivery, auto updating (which happened yesterday iirc - you never apply patches to steam games), cheaper prices, games which are not computer dependant (log on at another location and you can access all your steam games without the discs)

I assumed steam was the same as direct2drive. I use direct2drive which requires a unique patch for the game. I was unfamiliar with steams autopatching, sorry for the mistake.

Have you tried using Hamachi?

How would Hamachi help patching? It enables other uses to connect to a "LAN" not patch the game.

I was wondering that myself....
