View Full Version : CTD Winter of 243 B.C. Oh, what a cold winter it is.
This is a computer movement CTD for Arche Selukids in Winter of 243BC. I know you keep saying it's virtually impossible to find it. But what are your debug methods? Does RTW print error reports or can you make it print all the movements for the computer, etc..? Also can't you just show all of the map and watch AI movements with a keen eye, then go back to before the CTD and check at what point the error occurs.

You could push (~`) button then type toggle_fow and watch the enemy (if you have "follow computer"[?] option enabled). Though I have tried that before and it has just wasted my time and not helped me with figuring out the reason (just personal attempts).

You can run filemon.exe too to try and figure things out, but I don't think we have really had much success with it telling us what exactly is wrong.
The best way we have of figuring these problems out is to see when you as the beta testing player have the problem when you do something - when you click on a building and it crashes, when you conquer a town and it crashes, when your town rebels and it crashes. Then we see the problem better and can try to fix the thing. When it happens on AI turns we are just in the dark unless you follow it closely with fow off, and then maybe (maybe) we have a few things we could try to associate it with. But it might just be a waste of time too if it's a building issue or unit recruitment or trait one. We feel pretty good about our names though - and doubt they are causing problems.
