View Full Version : Is it just me or what?

This happens to me about every other time I am setting up for a defense. After carefully placing all my units and clicking the icons for hold position and hold formation, I hit the begin battle. One of my units (usually archers) will immediately start to move off in some direction on their own. I usually have time to halt them and get them back into position, but it is quite disconcerting. Is this a minor bug or am I
doing something wrong.

Is it possible two units are overlapping or bumping into one another? If so, one will move to get "breathing room".
it could be the location, as well. sometimes, if the rear of the unit is in "off the map" territory (ground where the cursor becomes red) the unit will attempt to move foward.

FO:
Have run into the same thing. It's enough to make you want to cut some heads off to make examples. Even had this happen when I put them into hold formation/hold position. Usually when I reposition them once they stay still, but sometimes not.
Seems like an anomaly like:
Kind of like the "Twilight Zone" moving near cliffs (guys all bunch up and get stuck in a line at "event horizon" around cliff).
Notice guys get stuck and can't move over bridges, subject to formation form sometimes too.
Other comments also are true too though.
I think they planned that into the game to make things a bit more realistic. How many generals in history have looked up in alarm as troops move exactly where they're not supposed to and cried "What the hell is Major Dimwit doing?! Have him pull back at once!!!" Troops will move by themselves throughout the battle and it's terrifically frustrating when expensive high honor troops decide to march from tree cover into a storm of arrows.
