Well after playing all of CoD3, I decided to make a review about it.

So Call of Duty 3 is the sequel to Call of Duty 2. Instead of focusing on Russia North Africa and Normandy, the events in CoD3 happen at the Normandy Breakout and the liberation of France. You play as Polish, Canadian, British, and American troops.

Gameplay: If you have played CoD2, the gameplay in CoD3 is very similar. A few new features to the single player gameplay include: Destructable cover, hand to hand combat. Hand to Hand combat really isn't as great as it sounds, the events are scripted so you can't fight a german hand to hand unless its the scripted event. Destructable cover is a good addition, if you toss a grenade right, sometimes the enemy cover will be blown. This also is a disadvantage, as the enemy may do the same to you. Another addition is that you can't just wait the enemy out, they will kepp coming at you, unlimited men coming at YOU. So this means you have to get mobile, soldier. Advancing up is the only way to get rid of them.

Story: The story is what i mentioned in the first paragraph. The story jumps to the different nationalities, so you may be loving that trench gun in one level, but then you lose it and end up with a bolt action rifle. There is only ONE tank level, and even that isn't great. There are a few British levels where you get behind the wheel of a jeep, but it isn't so exciting (the only great part about it is that theres a tank shooting at you, which makes you want to go).

Graphics: The graphics are good, I recommend using the next-gen consoles, such as the Xbox360, to really get the full feeling for the graphics. If anyone has played Call of Duty 2: Big Red One, the graphics are made by the same people.

Sound: The sound is great. The enemy will shout commands, as will your teammates. Can't say much about sound now though :sweatdrop:

Multiplayer: It is amazing. The addition of classes and rank is what CoD needed. A scout for example, can call in artillery strikes, at lv 3 artillery, he could wipe out full squads. War is another great addition, the point of this type of game is to control all points on the map. Multiplayer will need alot of teamwork to overcome the enemy.

So all in all, I give Call of Duty 3 a 8/10 its a great game, pick it up, but it could really have improved as far as gameplay and story.

Not interested.~;)
It's a shooter that "pushes" you forward against endless waves of enemies in a completely unrealistic and boring-because-overused WW2 setting.
In addition to that, it likely costs 49EUR and has a playtime of around 10 hours which means about 5EUR per hour of gameplay which means an expensive graphics demo to me.:sweatdrop:

edit: Forgot the multiplayer, well this kind of game is not very interesting for me in MP since I am not a guy for fast shooters, I'm just too slow.

Review is good, but it's not my type of game. It's a bit like half-life 2, cool stuff happens but it doesn't affect the player, all just show. Borrowed this one from a friend, fun for while but deja-vu galore. Not that enthousiastic about the graphics, it looks very sharp, and because of that you see how unimpressive the levels really are, the models are good but the buildings are low poly and the textures slapped on them are drab, good enough for last gen but on the 360...

I for one am a bit disappointed with CoD3... I have CoD2 on the PC and I tried it on the 360 and was impressed by the fact that is was practically identical to the PC one...

CoD3 has a couple of new features in drivable multi-crew vehicles in MP (did DoD UO not introduce this on the PC?), throwing back grenades and as above destructable cover. The battles are also bigger and the battlefield have multiple route which interact... I believe the respawning enemies if you do not move forward were in CoD2 where they not, unless you where at a "boss" section (usually a building)...

Graphically CoD3 is very good, higher resolution, better texture and some of those neat new Graphic features we will see more of as time goes by (and in DX10 I assume)...

But... No leaning and no mantling (climbing through windows)... A couple of removed features there, and the lack of leaning especially I think has force them to make Veteren in CoD3 easier than it was in CoD2...

So prettier and bigger and loader but with some of the gameplay pulled... Somehow it just seems more simplistic then CoD2...

Just my opinion, but it was made by the makers of CoD2:Big Red One (for the original XBox) and it shows a bit...

Released at the same time as GoW is really making it suffer I think...

Hoping they are saving the PC version for Vista and DX10...

Haven't played CoD3 yet but I will eventually. Hopefully it's somewhat fun.
