View Full Version : Upgrading forum in Rome?
I'm around 235BC in a Romani campaign, and my options for buildings in Rome and the core Italian cities are getting thin. I can't upgrade from a forum to a great forum, which means I can't build past the second-level school. That may cut off other building options as well, but I'm not sure.
Annoyingly, several conquered cities (Massilia comes to mind) have a great forum. Am I missing some prerequisite here? (I can't check because it's not in the building browser.)
If i remember correctly, you need the gov type 2 to build the great forum (thats
why you can build it in Massalia, i guess).

Are you sure you have a covernment I type there? There should be one there by default, but better check.

I would expect that would be because the conquered cities are larger than the Italian ones. You'll have to wait to upgrade the government building.

Please refer to this thread (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=75165).
Ah, that explains it. I thought I had done my due diligence with the search function; not sure how I missed that. Thanks for the pointer!

If you don't want to wait for the patch, you can very easily fix it - it is just removing a "not" in one text file. That link should provde the directions.
since he is running out of buildings already in 235 as the Romans, I probably would around that time as well but havent played as the romani yet, are there any plans to add more buildings or extend the building time, etc?

A lot of buildings require the great_forum to be built first. Fixing that little error will allow the building of something like four more building trees.
