I just got my first general that has the ability to fight in night battles, but I had no time to get into a night battle. So now my question is, what is the sole purpose of night battles? Will my troops have an added bonus over the enemy and will my losses be less because my General is experienced in fight night battles and the enemy is in disarray, or are night battles just for looks?

Well for me photo shop says that they are an 'unsupported file type', any other programmes?

I thought the enemy got a morale penalty (unless the other general is a nightfighter too) and there can be no reinforcements during night battles. Also, fire arrows are a must, it appears that you suffer an accuracy penalty when shooting with normal arrows during a night fight.

A night fight is a perfect thing for fighting BIG mongol stacks. ~:)

Only the attacker can call for a night battle, and only if the general has the Night Fighter traits. All generals with the trait get +1 command star during night battles. Only stacks led by a general with Night Fighter can act as reinforcements during night battles.

Interesting, but do you troops get a moral boost or any edge over the enemy if their General doesn't have the night attack attribute?

You don't let the enemy bring his reinforcements, and can defeat him piecemeal.
You can choose not to bring your reinforcements.
You get a one star bonus if your adversary is not a night fighter.
As you keep attacking at night, your bonus goes up to at least four stars.
You get less tired in the Holy hands.
Your enemy reacts slowly and poorly to your moves.
The missiles' range and maybe even accuracy are reduced.

If you get a night fighter, by all means, use him as one!

I miss the change from BI to M2TW in regards to Night Fighter. Although I do understand it, considering you could get 10+ stars just by fighting night battles over and over again until you max out your nocturnal trait.
