I've just downloaded Vercengetorix's CAS Extractor. I saved it into the folder 3DS Max/scripts. So, in Max, I went to utilities, then run script. I selected the CAS one from the scripts folder. A new option appeared in the utilities dropdown menu, RTW Import/Export. Anyway, I selected it, but when I try to load the RTW unit models, it tells me they are not in a readable format or something along those lines.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong, any help would really be appreciated.

"Working in Max, I loaded up a Warband, deleted everything but shield. Then, I loaded up a Barbarian Peasant. So basically it looked like a standard Barb Peasant holding an oval shield. Anyway, when I imported it, I got the message (or something along the lines of):
"Mesh shield must have the skin modifier at the top of the stack. If static then it must have a bone as its parent."
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

go to schematic view and right click on the rectange that says shield select connect from your pop up menu and drag to the bone left hand

Thanks, I've got that sorted out, I can now swap weapons and shields between unit and skin them so they appear properly in game.:2thumbsup:
However, I now have a new problem. I selected the polys of a cape from a unit, and saved the cape in the Max/scripts folder. So, I loaded up a Warband, and merged the cape onto it, looked great in Max. So I tried it in-game, and the result was this:

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong. I've made great progress with my modding skills recently with the help I've been getting on these forums, and can now skin in Photoshop and do some stuff in Max, so keep it up!~
