Never like'd Halo. Such a cliche/over-rated game.

They are a bit nuts though?!

Sir you should be shot. Halo has it's flaws, but the core gameplay is one of great elegance, Halo has nearly perfected fps gameplay. There is nothing like hitting a elite on his nose and sticking a grenade on it, or sneaking behind him for a stealthkill, or just about any of the oh so many cool ways of dispatching these foul beasts. The best AI, the smoothest combat, oh yeah.

That's exactly why I don't like it, people are so obsessed with it.

Oh it is probably the most overrated game there is, and that is why it gets so much hate I guess. But that doesn't mean that it isn't an one excellent game, the things it does it does so gracefully, now if only they managed to make it more interesting, Bungie should add some story and make leveldesign that deserves to be called 'design', because it's bloody terrible.

Honestly, Halo just has the coolest fps gameplay I have ever seen. On the incredibly challenging higher difficulties it's one amazing (or tedious, take your pick) battle after the other, and each time it plays out differently.

Truer words have never been spoken. When you're really experienced/bored with the game it's amazing how much like Splinter Cell it can be. You can clear out huge rooms without firing a shot and more. Sneakin and freakin is where it's at!
:2thumbsup:

The sequel was crap mostly because the movement speed was so slow. In the original, your character seemed to flow like water. I used to love "dancing" with elites; killing them without firing a shot. :rifle:

I think you guys need to play a little gem called Half Life 2.

After playing that, try saying halo is great.

It's just not - it's linear and lacks innovation (not to mention it looks ####), and i find the only fun that is to be had is through co-op.

Maybe if there was a version that wasn't just a corridor shooter in disguise?

Halo is overrated....but so is Half Life 2....Half Life 2 was what? a great (amazing) physics engine.....I mean...the amount of stuff you could interact with was crazy....but in the end the story sucked the big one and I was bored as hell when I got to the last levels.

give me Call of Duty 2 (haven“t played 3 yet) over the other 2 any day of the week and twice on sundays.

BORING

Really, only the Ravenholm part was hinting at excellence, the rest of the game is a turd. Boring boring boring, I really liked the first by the way.

Those kids did an amazing job.

Both HL2 and Halo/2, are excellent games. You guys are looking to much into this, sure both have their flaws, but they kept me entertained for hours.

Why are you lot discussing the game?

I think those kids did an absolutely amazing job. Kudos to them. Wish I had the same talent (or any talent at all, for that matter).

Those guys were incredible, sounded just like the in-game music.

The halo game is incredible also. I remember getting together with 7 of my friends, hooking 2 systems together and playing 4v4 in 2 diffrent rooms. Most fun iv ever had playing a video game, most skill iv ever had to use at one time also (pretty sad for me actually :inquisitive: ). My freind, Deej (Long for D.J) had the game, and played for 5 hours on it everyday, and became a certified master at it. Definetely not overrated.

I think not. Apart from any other issues it may have, in order to make it playable with a console gamepad movement was simply made too slow. When you're using a keyboard and mouse it feels like trudging through mud.

Both Halo and Half-Life 2 are weak fps games. Heck, I'd take something more old school like Aliens vs. Predator 2 or the original Half-Lifes over 'em any day. Halo 2, though, is quality. And the music is better with Steve Vai anyway.

WOW...:shame:

man that was great.

But anyone who doth mock Halo is a Heretic! And shall be purged for The Great Journey.
And anyone who says Halo needs more story should check out the link in my thread about Halo three in the Arena.

What were you thinking playing Halo on the pc anyway? Halo was specifically designed for a gamepad, it controls like a dream on the xbox, all the buttons where you want them to be.

I can't stand playing FPS's with gamepads, it's nowhere near as precise as a mouse and keyboard.

Precision is overrated, the game does it for you to some extend. Doesn't make the game any less easy mind you, just more tactical, on legendary the difficulty will shame any pc-shooter. pc crowd tends to forget that you have full analogue control of your strafing/forwardbackward, it allows for moves not possible with a keyboard/mouse setup. Vladimir put it best with the character 'flowing like water' and 'dancing with elites', that's Halo for ya

Doing a random search for my name I found this post...But no, really, the music is awesome. I like the primal feel of it (with awesome guitar) while I engaged in guilt-free killing (not humans). Except maybe for that Marine who has the sniper rifle; weapon swap is a great feature of Halo 2. :2thumbsup:

I own the soundtrack for both games and hope the music for the final one will be just as good.
