First letter of Dragomir of Gondor to his beloved wife,

My beloved wife,

There is less than 3 months since i left our house from Pelargir, but stil, as time passes , i miss you even more as times go by. I think of you, and even as i write, i feel you close to my, like you where here with me right in these moments.

In this city i feell utterly lonely. I find myself caught up in different things, such as supervising certain transports, certain ships... the fortress in wich i live, is large, and it is a good refuge from the wild and hot desert wind. Its gardens, its fountains, are indeed a pleasure - if anything can be pleasant without you, my beloved one.

I rarely walk alone in the great city. In the last days, rioting has been quite frequent, as the Haradrians hate us and are trying to hurt us as much as they can. Often, while my men are patrolling the streets, even young boys and women often attack them, throwing against them hails of stones.

As a men of honor, i have tried to speak with the local people, to see what they would need in order to be happier, but it was of no use. Seems like a certain darkness has entered into their soul, seems like the bitter taste of hatred and vengeance ...

Yesterday as i write, i went to visit the palace of Tanaari, one of the princes of the desert, subject to the rule of Gondor. There where rumours that his wife, a woman named Talita, was a priestess of the dark cult. They received me with great honours - and that is a manner of the Haradrim to receive their guests - with false honours, and with poisonous snakes in the darkness of the night.

I have talked to Tanaari about the dangers, about the ungoing riots, but i received no more than false words of friendship. Talita also, denied everything, but yet still, i sensed something profoundly dark about this woman. I would have ordered my soldiers to arrest both of them, but that would have made things even worse in the city."

I`l write in one month or so the following...
