You've used the unpacker and forgot to delete these files:
data\descr_geography_new.txt & data\descr_geography_new.db
THIS THREAD HAS BEEN P-P-P-PWNED!

No, delete them, do not rerun the unpacker.
For some dumb reason, the unpacker puts bugged files in there. Just get rid of them completely.

You know... I had the exact same problem.
I remember that I deleted the files at some point, but I also remember that I had unpacked twice in the beginning, though after I had done a lot of testing and modding and other stuff... So I thought I was in the safe for this one because I was sure I had done it (which I had).
I was really wondering if my G-card was the problem. But since nobody else mentioned having this specific problem (battles crashing but not campaigns), I didn't know that it was related to this.
Lo and belod, there were indeed two lousy files that fucked up everything!
Thanks from a frustrated modder.:2thumbsup:

Let me proceed to do a little shimmy shake to the left.
And if time permits, a little shimmy shake to the right.
p.s. I own this thread. :smash:
Ah, so THAT is why I abandoned all my late-night modding, thinking I had seriously screwed something up, uninstalled and then re-installed the whole game + patch + mod. Great. Thanks for the info.
Now excuse me while I vent some excess frustration. SON OF A :furious3: :furious3: :furious3: !!!
...
Feel better already. Back to modding.
