Installation help?

Made a clean installment of RTW. When trying to install the 1.5-patch I got a message saying I needed patch 1.3 first so I installed that first. Installed 0.8-mod and all was well. When finished I got a RTW-shortcut AND a 0.8-shortcut on my desktop. Clicking the RTW one just launches vanilla and clicking the EB-shortcut doesn´t do anything but lauch the little shortcut as a picture. What did I do wrong?

Kinda sounds like you installed it on the desktop, or else in just the wrong folder.

I suggest you re-install everything, paying close attention to which folders you are installling to. If you still have that problem, maybe you have some sort of corrupted download and need to download EB 0.8 again.

Actually i have the same problem as Pse. I decided to return to EB after a break, and get the same problem. Can't install 1.5 and hence play EB. Any suggestions?

What do you mean you can't install 1.5? What happens when you try to install it? Are you sure you have 1.3 installed before you try to install 1.5?

I guess you've forgotten one critical step in the installation process which is as follows:
1 Install Vanilla RTW 1.0
2 Install Patch 1.2
3 Install Patch 1.3 (which is a maintainance patch, simply fixes some 1.2 bugs/ repairs your prior installed 1.2)
4 Install Patch 1.5
5 Install EB 0.8

That should do the trick. Patch 1.2 came with several new bugs, such as 'peglegs', and 1.3 came with some of the solutions, such as shaders.

6 (Optional) Revise your settings

Sorry but this is wrong, 1.2 is not necessery any longer, the correct order is:

1.0
1.3
1.5

CA has included the 1.2 changes in the 1.3 patch (they take off the 1.2 download mirror, too )

I have a proposal to EB team. I wonder if u can have patch 1.3 and 1.5 for download on your website?? Its much easier for newbies if u have that. Thanks...:2thumbsup:
