Hey. I just wanted to ask you, if there's any way of dealing with this as in my EB game, campaign map textures don't load up. I was told that this was an instalation error but, after I repaired the instalation 2 times with two diferent files (I downloaded another file just to make sure it wasn't a corruption on my file) and deinstalling and reinstaling EB, I still get this wierd bug. Now, I lso have RTR PE in my computer with Imperator 2 and this doesn't hapen there. Any help is apretiated.

Cheers...

Did you install EB over a copy of RTW that had RTR PE? That's the only thing I can think of offhand.

Nope... I installed over RTW vanilla... I had two copys on I used to install imperator and the other to instal EB... I launched the game in vanilla mode and all was fine. I have no idea of what's going on...

Cheers...

I have the same exact problem, I installed a fresh copy of RTW 1.5 as well, no textures on .74 either, just installed .80 and no difference. Any ideas?

Maybe your drivers are out of date? All i can think of.

Please report your PC's ram, graphics card type and ram, and whether it is embedded in your PC. I have a gut feeling about this, but I would love to know more, if possible.

I haven't had this problem with RTW/BI vanilla, or RTR. But, I'm running it on my lappy, specs are:

Intel Pentium M 1.6GHz, 1Mb L2, 400MHz FSB
1Gb DDR333 (2 modules)
On board ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 128Mb (using latest Omega drivers)

I can't say I've ever had this particular graphics with any other game on my system and I have everything from America's Army to Warcraft III. But who knows, a video incompatibility would be my first suspicion if it's hardware related. Weird anyways, the game is playable but certainly it'd be nice if it worked. I'm not sure it's just the textures missing either, for example the stars next to a general are just fuzzy squares, I'll have to take some screens. Thanks for the reply though.

Exactly as my game is.

My specs are:

Pentium M 1.6GHz
512MB DDR
ATI 9700 64MB latest Omega drivers.

I can run MTW2 on medium and I also have all kind of games from FPS to Strategy games...

Cheers...

First of all thanks for the info...

My gut feeling had been if a user-allowed programm had decided that the Graphic's ram card had been clogged and "zipped" the graphics data to "insure" framerates. Seems my gut feeling was correct. Omega should NOT be used for EB especially in tandem with older hardware like 9700 (especially 64MB version) is. If what I have read is correct Omega ALWAYS keeps some graphics ram on the card as a buffer for any unforseen events. WHile that works like a charm on FPS, it clearly doensn't here, where the map has to be as good as possible or the game is unplayable.

It has to be said that also the map is a bit blurred, not just the faction flags.

Obvious question. Can both of you either uninstall OMega or play EB without them? If so, please report.

Thanks!

I'm sorry if I missed something earlier, but I think what I'll say next does not help the way you'd like it :sweatdrop:

I run EB on a laptop:
Centrino 1.6 GHz
1 GHz DDR (2x512 Mo)
ATI 9700 with Omega 3.8.273

And it perfectly works (campaign map on 1024x768, battle map on 1400x1050). No texture bug at all, and this has been so since the first time I launched my EB game.

Hope you'll get this sorted out anyway, and maybe that is in fact related to Omega, but from what I've experienced so far, it's not...

Good luck!

Hmm, the plot thickens... Ok, I'd like to try uninstalling omega drivers anyways, but the ATI catalyst drivers would never install for me, they said my lappy is unsupported (It's a custom built DIY) and to consult my manufacturer or to get 3rd party drivers (they directed me to omega). I wish I could find the CD that came with the kit, but for now all I have that will work is omega drivers, I'll try reverting back to 3.8.273, I'm using 3.8.291.

I'm running 1024x768 on the campaign map, my LCD's optimum res is 1400x1050, but it won't display that in EB. Strange because it will in windows and in every other game, but the option doesn't appear in EB. Anyways, it doesn't appear to be related to resolution. I don't have time to test it tonight, and I'm leaving for CES tomorrow and need some sleep, but I'll check it when I get the chance. Thanks for the replies, guys.

Hum...

Then maybe you want to have a look at this website (http://www.driverheaven.net/modtool/). It worked fine for me before I switched to Omega (no real difference AFAIK).
This should help you install the regular Catalyst drivers, as the tool simply adapts (well, that's what I understand) the catalyst driver to your integrated graphic card.

Whoo, they looks like ghosts.

Glad to see this problem being addressed. I'll try the Catalyst driver adapter application.

Thanks for the link, TiFlo, using the adapter I installed the catalyst 7.1 drivers from ATI, no difference unfortunately, I still get the same graphical issue. Any more ideas?
